Livewind by BreezeDude.de: thousands of new wind stations in Sidekik

Good flying decisions start with good wind data. That is why Sidekik now includes the large Livewind database from BreezeDude.de.

Until now, Livewind stations in Sidekik were mainly available for Austria. The new integration adds thousands of extra stations in Germany, Switzerland and Italy. Whether you are in the Alps, planning a Hike & Fly in South Tyrol or an XC in Bavaria — you now have more live data where you need it.

What is BreezeDude?

BreezeDude.de is a popular project for paraglider and hang-glider pilots that brings wind measurements from many sources onto one map. It is known for a fast display, a large number of stations and wide geographic coverage.

The offering has grown over the years and now also includes thermal and weather forecasts. Many pilots already use BreezeDude every day to plan flying days or check conditions at launch.

A new wind layer on the map

So you can use the extra data flexibly, the map now has a new wind icon in the control buttons.

That icon shows or hides Livewind stations at any time. You decide whether the map stays clean or shows every available wind reading.

BreezeDude data is now inside Sidekik. That means:

• Better coverage in Germany, Switzerland and Italy
• The important information in one place
• No switching between apps or browser tabs

The wind data sits on the Sidekik map — next to livetracking, challenges, launch sites and everything you already know — and it also helps you in the air while you track.
