Automatic XContest import for Sidekik

Automatic import from XContest to Sidekik saves time and effort. This post shows how to use it and what you get from it.
Why XContest and Sidekik?
For many of us, XContest is essential. Tracking, flight analysis, sharing results with the community — for years it has been the place we document flights. Many already use devices like Skytraxx or apps like XCTrack and FlySkyHy to submit flights straight to XContest.
If you upload to XContest anyway, you can turn on sync and those flights appear on Sidekik automatically.
How automatic import works
Set it up in a few steps:
- Sign in and open settings: Sign in at https://app.sidekik.cloud. In account settings (profile → gear icon, top right) you will find a field labelled XContest UUID.
- Join the XContest group: For Sidekik to see your flights from the last 24 hours, join the Sidekik group (https://www.xcontest.org/world/en/my-groups:sidekik). You need to be signed in to XContest.
- Copy and paste the XContest UUID: After you join, you see a UUID. Copy it into Sidekik settings. Tap “Edit”, paste the UUID and tap “Save”.
- Sync: Every 5 minutes Sidekik checks for new flights on your XContest profile. Only flights that finished and were uploaded in the last 24 hours are imported. A flight from the day before yesterday will not come across — upload that one to Sidekik manually, as before.
