Experience points and levels

From today, every minute outdoors is rewarded. With the new XP and level system you earn experience points for everything that makes the adventure — from the hike to launch to the last thermal in the evening light.
The new XP and level system at a glance
How many points you get depends on the activity:
| Activity | Experience points |
|---|---|
| Upload a flight | 100 XP |
| Each challenge peak you collect for the first time | 100 XP |
| Airtime per 10 minutes | 20 XP |
| Flight distance per 10 km | 50 XP |
| Hiking per 10 minutes | 20 XP |
| Hiking per 1 km | 10 XP |
The more XP you collect, the higher you climb. There are 11 stages — Level 0 to Level 10. Your level shows as a badge on your profile and on the new XP leaderboard.

| 0 | 0 – 999 |
| 1 | 1,000 – 3,999 |
| 2 | 4,000 – 8,999 |

Because adventures are better together, there is now a club ranking: clubs compete against each other — the XP of the best ten members count. You can see which community is most active.
More and more women are part of the Sidekik community. Next to the regional ranking there is now a women’s ranking — for more visibility, motivation and company.
Your past flying counts: all previous flights were scored retroactively. You will find your XP in your statistics — or by tapping your XP at the top of the Home tab.
One last note: the XP system is in a test phase. We may adjust the scoring in the coming weeks and months so it stays fair, motivating and useful. Some users currently have duplicate uploads, for example from XContest sync. We are cleaning those up and working to prevent duplicates automatically.
The update is live on iOS and Android — so: update the app, get out, have the adventure, collect XP, level up!
